Few museums on earth can compare to Paris’ Musee du Louvre. The building is more than 800 years old, and is the largest museum in the world. It is one of the most aesthetically appealing structures in the world, both inside and out. The ornate detail of the Louvre’s façade is complimented by the distinctive glass pyramid situated in the middle of the museum’s main promenade. Visitors will note the extensive, often hours-long admission line tailing from the pyramid, which is the only entrance into the museum. (A museum pass will cut the waiting period dramatically).
