This immaculate structure, built for Emperor Napoleon in 1862, is one of the most ornate buildings in Paris. Appropriately located in the Opera District, the wedding-cake-style building was the inspiration for the setting in the acclaimed musical, “Phantom of the Opera.” It remains one of the largest theaters in Europe, with seating for 2,200 patrons.
